Building with Water: Concepts, Typology, Design looks at the theme of water in architecture, a topic that has been critical in the development of architecture and urban planning for years. Using 22 projects as case studies, the book presents buildings that explicitly refer to water in their design and form and establishes a typology of building by the water through the lens of residential structures, recreation facilities, industry and infrastructure, and buildings for arts and culture. This volume explores projects that grapple with the main criterion of the location – namely water – in an ecologically sustainable way and respond to it with their design.
